Service
By using RAVEN to scan receipts, split bills, or manage group trips, you agree to these terms. We've written them to be clear and fair.
01 — Agreement
You Agree to These Terms
By creating a RAVEN account or using any part of the service — including scanning receipts, creating bills, or sharing trip hubs — you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you don't agree, please stop using RAVEN. These terms apply to all users.
02 — The Service
What RAVEN Does
RAVEN is an AI-powered receipt scanning and bill-splitting platform. The service lets you:
- Upload receipt photos and have AI extract items, prices, tax, and tip
- Create shareable bills where group members can pick their items and pay
- Build trip hubs that track expenses across multiple receipts for the whole group
- Track payment status and send reminders via your dashboard
- Connect your Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or Apple Pay so others can pay you
Important: RAVEN facilitates tracking of payments between people. We are not a payment processor and do not hold, move, or take a cut of any funds. All actual payments happen directly between users via their chosen payment apps.
03 — Your Account
Account & Use
By using RAVEN, you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years of age
- You have the legal right to use the email or phone number you register with
- You will only use RAVEN for lawful purposes
- You will not use RAVEN to harass, spam, or deceive other people
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You will keep your password secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
04 — Acceptable Use
What You Can't Do
To keep RAVEN safe and functional for everyone, you agree not to:
- Use RAVEN to send unsolicited messages, spam, or harass other users
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
- Use RAVEN for fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity of any kind
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Upload malicious content, harmful code, or inappropriate images
- Scrape or systematically extract data from RAVEN without written permission
Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
05 — AI Features
AI Receipt Scanning
RAVEN uses Claude AI by Anthropic to scan and parse receipt photos. By uploading a receipt, you grant us permission to process that image through Anthropic's API for the sole purpose of extracting bill data for your use.
- AI extraction may not be 100% accurate — always review the scanned items before sharing
- You are responsible for verifying amounts before sending payment requests
- Do not upload receipts containing sensitive personal data beyond standard restaurant/retail items
Anthropic's usage policies apply to all AI processing.
06 — Disclaimers
Limitations & Liability
RAVEN is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy of AI scanning, or error-free operation.
Heads up: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RAVEN shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including payment disputes between bill participants or inaccurate AI scan results.
RAVEN is a convenience tool. You are always responsible for confirming actual payment through your own means (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, etc.).
07 — Intellectual Property
Ownership & Protection
All RAVEN branding, product design, code, workflows, and content are owned by RAVEN and protected by applicable intellectual property, trade secret, and unfair competition laws. You may not reproduce, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
Business Model Protection: RAVEN's core concepts — including but not limited to AI-powered receipt scanning linked to shareable per-person bill breakdowns, group trip expense hubs, and the overall product flow — constitute proprietary trade secrets and intellectual property. Any individual or entity that copies, substantially imitates, or derives a competing product from RAVEN's model without authorization may be subject to legal action including injunctive relief, damages, and recovery of legal fees under applicable state and federal law.
We take the protection of our product seriously. If you believe your own intellectual property has been infringed by RAVEN, or if you wish to inquire about licensing, contact us at hello@ravensplit.com.
You retain ownership of any content you create using RAVEN (your bills, trips, and data). By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you.
Updates & Law
Changes & Governing Law
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll notify active users of material changes via email. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New York.
